Join a tour of the village of La Fiere, the US 82nd airborne drop zones over the Merederet River, the wonderful statue of Iron Mike, the delightful town of St Mere Eglise, Utah Beach - the sector of landing ground which was of vital importance for operation overlord to succeed.
Omaha Beach…..possibly the most famous of the landing grounds to many and the costliest to the allies, hence the apt nickname of “Bloody Omaha“.
Finally, we head to one of the most poignant and thought provoking visits many will ever experience at the Normandy American National Cemetery and Memorial at St Laurent
The tranquillity of the surroundings, are in stark contrast to St Laurent in June 1944. The cemetery has been shown in the recent film “saving Private Ryan” at the beginning and end of this epic story.
